ESCAPE THE ORDINARY ADVENTURE: Gay Pride in Colombia

Sadly I have lost my pictures from this day, along with many other Medellin photos. But gay pride was a huge event in a country and continent with a reputation for a level of macho homophobia – most likely a gift left behind by the Catholic church. It reminded me of Carnival in Notting Hill, ostensibly a celebration of Caribbean culture that just became a massive party for everyone. I would guess that gay people were in the minority there, although there’s no way to make that calculation. It was a lot of fun.
